1. End of Summer Weddings

    2 2 September 2010

Well, August has been and gone and it was a busy month for weddings with 6 on the go! Congratulations to everyone who got married and I hope you had the day of your dreams.

Last weekend i had the pleasure of doing flowers for 2 weddings that were a bit different. Jakki and Henry had Sunflowers as their floral theme and Mel and Raj had flowers with peacock feathers! How lovely. Some photos to follow soon.

September and October are also busy months now for brides, so the season doesn’t end here. This weekend I’ll be at Kenilworth Castle again doing flowers for Melanie and Christopher…..good luck. x

  2. Hello at last!

    4 4 August 2010

Well, it’s been a while since I’ve been on my blog, I’m officially on the naughty step!

So what’s new at Ailsa’s Floral Design? Well, as you can imagine this is a busy time of year for florists and this year has been great so far with weddings every weekend. I’ve been working at some lovely venues and of course with some gorgeous brides! I’ve loved every minute of the wedding season so far and I still have lots more to do well into the Autumn and a few Winter weddings to look forward to also.

I’ve spent some time updating my gallery, so there’s some more pictures to have a look at and get ideas and inspiration etc. I’ve also created a ‘free download’ full of hints and tips of how to save lots of money when deciding upon your wedding flowers.

I have lots to say but won’t spill it out all at once, but nevertheless, I have made a promise to blog more often and share the news of Ailsa’s Floral Design with you all……so watch this space.

Good luck to Beverly and also to Carloyn, my brides this week. xx

  3. Spring is on the way

    18 18 March 2010

After a very long and cold winter I can finally see the signs that spring is on the way, I even went outside the workshop without my coat today! In a couple of weeks the clocks will go forward and we’ll all get a bit of a boost with longer days.

I love spring and all the flowers that represent this wonderful time of year. It’s the time to get back in the garden and start getting rid of all the dead life from last year to make room for all the new shoots that are desperate to rear their heads above the soil and scream ‘hello’! I was in the garden the other day, having a good clear out and starting to think about plans for this summer. Now is the time that daffodils, tulips and muscari are in abundance, primroses are great for the garden too and set the scene for life and colour in the months to follow. I’ve lost count of the number of hyacinth bulbs I have nestled around the house….you just can’t beat that amazing scent that greets you as soon as you walk through the door.

Well, we now creep into the ‘wedding season’ where I will be busy from now through until October. I still have availability for some weekends though, so if you haven’t sorted out your flowers yet, please get in touch so I can arrange a consultation with you.

Finally, here’s to a weekend full of sunshine for Emily and Dan who are getting married on Saturday……good luck! x
